The Brookdale Group, LLC is a privately held
commercial real estate investment company established in Atlanta, Georgia in 1994. The Brookdale
Group, in conjunction with its operating affiliate Brookdale Realty Services, LLC, is actively
engaged in making real estate investments on behalf of its principals
and its institutional co-investment partners. Since its formation, Brookdale has established five investment funds which have made real estate investments with an aggregate value well in excess of $1 billion.

The Brookdale Group and Brookdale Realty
Services provide real estate investment services exclusively to the Brookdale-sponsored investment
funds. Among the services provided are identification of investment opportunities, evaluation of
prospective investments for conformance with each fund's objectives, negotiation and consummation of
transactions and ongoing asset management with respect to the funds' portfolios. Investments by the
Brookdale funds are typically made on an "all-cash" basis, and full investment and liquidation
discretion is afforded the Brookdale affiliate that is the general partner of each fund.

In its investing activities, The Brookdale
Group acts only as a principal and not as an advisor or broker. Furthermore, with respect to
services such as property management, development management or leasing, The Brookdale Group typically evaluates the
competencies of several local real estate companies and contracts or partners with the entity
that is deemed best suited to provide the needed services for each investment. However, because of the extensive
operating experience of the professionals of The Brookdale Group and Brookdale Realty Services, the
Brookdale funds are not "passive investors." Rather, active support is provided on a continuous
basis to the local entities that are responsible for providing day-to-day real estate services in
connection with Brookdale's investments. |
